The Point
St Cuthbert’s Co-op on Bread St - ED509
Originally built as a department store this unique building became The Point Hotel and Conference Centre, and is now a Double Tree by Hilton. It sits with the pointy bit facing East towards West Port which descends down into the Grassmarket.
The first night the winter storm they called the Beast from the East hit the UK in 2018 I spent 6 hours walking through Edinburgh, capturing scenes that I thought might be very short lived. The blizzards, strong winds and low temperatures lasted nearly 2 weeks.
