Newhaven Harbour
and the Grey Heron - ED004
Newhaven is Edinburgh’s fishing village and is a favourite haunt for photographers at sunset.
There is a long history of fishing and the fishwives of Newhaven were celebrated and documented by the early pioneers of photography in the city.
The only fisherman on this evening was the Grey Heron who was waiting patiently for its supper in a slowly receding tide, as the sky turned all shades of gorgeous.
